How To Decide What Type Of Styling To Pursue

When it comes to your styling career there are so many different paths you can take. From celebrity styling, to personal styling, editorials, TV styling and everything else in between your options are limitless but how do you decide which one to place your focus on?

Use these questions to find clarity on what type of styling or combination of styling services will work best for you:

  • What does your ideal day as a stylist look like?

No thought is too big, and I really want you to stretch your creativity with this one. Write it down! You have permission to start daydreaming as you create your new life. Really consider your interests outside of fashion to customize passionate and profitable styling biz or side hustle. For instance, if you like to volunteer at homeless shelters, you could organize a clothing drive to benefit the shelter while bringing awareness to your business and helping a cause!

Remember that as a Stylist you are providing a SERVICE. Throughout your career, always keep in mind: "How can I be of Service"?

Here are some other questions to ask yourself:

  • What service is your potential or current clientele asking you about the most?

  • What kind of styling do you already help others with for free?

What profession outside of fashion do you resonate with the most? This can help you target the right clientele for your business.

  • How do you help or serve others outside of fashion? How can you merge the two to create a business that you love?
